About Me
Dr. Aparup Pakhira holds a Ph.D. as an institute scholar from RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur in Corporate Law. He has completed masters in law from National University of Juridical Sciences with specialisation in cyber law. After acquiring graduation degree in Physics(Hons.), he went for law degree and completed Post Graduation in Computer Application from Jadavpur University. Out of his passion, Pakhira has also specialised in networking and cleared Cisco Certified Network Associate. Before joining KIIT Law School Bhubaneswar, he was associated with DSNLU Visakhapatnam as an assistant professor.
Dr. Pakhira started his career in the legal field as civil practitioner, and then he joined Tata Motors as a legal advisor. After serving other corporate sectors and other reputed law firms, he has assisted in a research project at IIT Law School and also worked in several prestigious projects sponsored by Government of India. He is a honorary legal advisor at All India Women’s Council and also empanelled with many corporate houses as a consultant.
Dr. Pakhira has immense research experience in the field of law. Worked as researcher in a project namely “Incorporation of Corporate Governance in SME’s” Sponsored by NFCG and Minstry of Corporate Affairs. He was also associated with project “Sexual Harrasment of Women at BPOs” sponsored by Ministry of Law and Justice, GOI. He collected data for the project “Copyright Protection of Handicrafts through Criminal Law” sponsored by Ministry of Social Welfare, GOI. All these prejects were assignrd to RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur. He also worked as Research Assistant for the project “Use of Forensic Science in Criminal Trial” sponsored by Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi. In this project he took revealing photograph and also interviewed judges, police officers and forensic personnel and was selected to present the final project before the Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi. Inspite of project experiences he organised and actively participated in several workshop, seminar and conferences. International conference on “Convergence of Corporate Governance in SMEs” sponsored by NFCG and MCA is the most important among them.
Pakhira’s thoughts and ideas are published in various international journals of repute. He has many publications in referred national journals like “Quality Times”, a Journal of the Institute of Directors, and journals of IIFM Business Law School. His research interests pertain to Corporate Governance, Independent Director and Cyber Crime related issues of India.
